Fire Resistant Systems

Fire resistant glazing brings natural light and visual connection to spaces where fire separation is required. We specify, supply and install aluminium and steel windows, doors and glazed partitions, selected around the project’s fire strategy and architectural design.

From individual doors to larger glazed screens, we coordinate the specification, technical drawings and installation details as part of your wider glazing package.

External Steel Doors & Partitions

For external applications, thermally broken steel systems bring together fire resistance, weather protection and slender framing. Single hinged doors, double doors and fixed glazed partitions can form individual openings or larger coordinated screens.

The specification considers the required fire performance alongside thermal insulation, exposure, threshold details and the connections to the surrounding construction.

Internal Steel Doors & Partitions

Steel fire doors and glazed screens allow rooms to remain visually connected while providing the fire separation required by the design. Our range includes single hinged doors, double doors and fixed partitions, with side panels and toplights where permitted by the selected system.

We work through the proportions, glazing divisions and door operation together, checking the proposed arrangement against the system’s fire classification and permitted dimensions.

Aluminium Windows, Doors & Partitions

Our aluminium range covers internal and external applications, with defined systems for different fire-resistance requirements.

MB-60E EI provides EI30 internal doors and glazed partitions. For external doors and partitions, MB-78EI offers EI30 and EI60 configurations, while MB-86EI extends the range to external opening windows, doors and fixed glazing with EI30 performance.

We help coordinate opening arrangements, adjoining panels and frame finishes with the other aluminium glazing throughout the project.

Hardware & Everyday Use

Fire doors need to work well in daily use as well as meet their specified fire performance. We coordinate handles, hinges, closers and locking arrangements, considering access, opening direction and how the space will be used.

Where smoke control, escape hardware or access control is required, these are addressed as part of the complete doorset specification.

Fire classifications, dimensions and available configurations depend on the complete tested or assessed assembly. We confirm the proposed specification and installation details against the project requirements.

Glass & Fire Performance

Fire performance depends on the complete assembly: glass, frames, seals, hardware and installation details.

We select the glazing within the scope of the chosen system’s classification, checking whether the project requires integrity-only protection or both integrity and insulation. Privacy, acoustic and solar-control requirements can also be considered where compatible glazing options are available.

Profiles, Colours & Glazing Divisions

Frame proportions, glazing divisions and finishes shape how the installation sits within the architecture. A choice of colours allows fire-resistant glazing to be coordinated with adjacent windows, doors and interior finishes.

We review panel layouts and glazing-bar options within the permitted system details, helping maintain a consistent appearance across the project.
