How and why we use personal information

Legitimate interests

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests include responding to and managing business enquiries, developing and maintaining client and professional relationships, delivering and improving our services, keeping appropriate business records, protecting our systems, preventing fraud, recovering debts, managing suppliers and defending legal claims. We consider whether the processing is necessary and balance our interests against the rights and expectations of the people affected.

If you do not provide information

Where information is needed to respond to an enquiry, prepare an accurate quotation, enter into or perform a contract, comply with law or manage site safety, we may be unable to proceed if it is not provided.

Direct marketing

We may send information about Framelite products, services, technical updates, projects or events where the law permits. For individual subscribers, we will obtain consent where PECR requires it, unless a relevant exception applies. For business contacts, we may use professional contact details where this is permitted and proportionate.

Your right to object: You can stop direct marketing at any time by using an unsubscribe option where provided or by emailing sales@framelite.co.uk. If you object to direct marketing, we will stop it. We may retain a minimal suppression record so that we can respect your preference.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website is built and hosted using Wix. Wix and other approved service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, scripts or similar technologies to operate the website, keep it secure, remember choices, measure performance and understand how visitors use it.

  • Strictly necessary technologies may be used without consent where they are required to provide the website or a service you request.

  • Analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies should be used only after you have made the relevant choice through the cookie banner, where consent is required.

  • You can change or withdraw cookie choices through the website’s cookie settings. Browser controls may also allow you to delete or block cookies, although some features may not work correctly.

The current cookie banner or cookie-settings panel should be read together with this notice because it identifies the cookies and providers active at the time of your visit, their purposes and durations. We may update the website’s technologies from time to time.

International transfers

Some service providers may process or allow access to personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards as required by UK data-protection law. These may include UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another permitted safeguard. You may contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

How long we keep personal information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, tax, warranty, safety and dispute-resolution requirements. We consider the nature and sensitivity of the information, the risk of harm, the purpose of processing and applicable limitation periods.

These periods are guidelines rather than absolute rules. We may securely delete or anonymise information earlier, or retain it longer where reasonably necessary and lawful.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure or access. Measures may include access controls, authentication, secure cloud services, backups, staff awareness, supplier checks and procedures for responding to suspected personal-data breaches. Automated decision-making

We do not currently make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means. If this changes, we will provide the information and safeguards required by law.

Our website may link to third-party websites, social-media pages or communication services. Those organisations are responsible for their own privacy practices. We encourage you to read their privacy notices before providing information. This notice does not cover a third party’s independent use of personal information.
